Writing your advert
To make your advert as effective as possible we need as much information as possible to help you sell your items. Try to include the following information:
- Title of advert - Try to make this unique and sum up what you are selling in just a few words.
- Description of item - Try to state as much vital information as possible i.e. make, model, quantity, condition, sizes, extras, missing parts, colour, materials, use, age, etc. (This can be as brief or as long as you like).
- Price - Please state whether this is each, for all, job lot, for 6, ONO, willing to split, etc. (We use this to calculate the cost of advertising with us).
- Location - Give us the postcode so we can include it to localise searches. Unless specified we will use your address from payment or company location.
- Delivery notes - Advise buyer if you require them to collect the item or if you can deliver and at what cost, payment requirements, etc.
- VAT - We need to know if you are VAT registered. If you are not VAT registered then we shall put VAT Free. If you are VAT registered then the choice is Including VAT or VAT To be added to your sale price.
- Contact details - Provide a phone number and / or email address. (If you don't supply us with this information we will use the email address you have contacted us with and any phone number we have for you).
We also advise that you include key words in your advert, for example if you want your advert to appear when someone types in ice rink, ice skates, outdoor, etc. then you need to include these words in your advert or they won't appear in the search.

Photographs
To get the best interest, it is advised that you include the best photos you can get of your items. A customer will base 90% of their purchasing decision on the first photograph they see. If you are selling a job lot of equipment, I would try and show all the items you are selling on the first photo.
Don't worry if you don't have a photo, you can still place your advert. We can also add photos at a later date.
It could be worth getting a professional to take a photo of expensive items. Taking time photographing can make the diference between a sale or not.
You can have one or as many photos as you feel necessary to sell your product (within reason). Be aware that we may not upload all of your images if we feel that they are not needed. If they are very similar to each other, we will pick the best ones. If you would like specific photos on your advert, let us know and we will happily add them for you.

Tips and things to avoid:
- Try to make the subject of your advert as large as possible in the photo and do not to capture random objects or distracting backgrounds - these won't help you sell your items.
- Avoid blurry photos - Take your photographs in a well lit area, making sure that the light isn't behind the object as this makes the object really dark. If possible use a tripod, or alternatively rest your camera on a solid object like a chair.
- Don't take excessive photos of one object from every angle, the best photos show at least two sides and the top, you should be able to show every side of your equipment with two or three photos. Close ups are advisable to highlight any special features or to make buyers aware of any damaged areas.
- Look at the background! It will only take a moment to clear the rubbish from where you are taking the photo! Even better move your item to a neutral background or use a white sheet behind your item to make it neutral.
