Spiegelhalls / spiegeltent's are traditional temporary dance halls that moved through the villages of Europe bringing music & entertainment to places that didn't have venues.

Very popular now as comedy venues (usually using modern aluminium structures masquerading as vintage) at festivals but also making the most incredible party venues they are unique, interesting structures that audiences love.

We rescued this one from a farmers barn in the south of France after their grandfather (the last person to tour with it) passed away, brought it to the UK and spent 3 months refurbishing it; stripping the structural elements back to their original metal, repairing it and then painting it with proper industrial paints to help ensure it has decades of use still in it, creating stillages for all the parts to make transport easier and working out how it all goes together & colour-coding everything to make assembly quicker.

We researched the structures history and discovered the story of how it started as a smaller circular structure and as business improved over the years it was expanded again and again until by the 1980's it was one of the biggest touring structures of its type.

An incredible structure 16 x 28m with a higher level surrounding the central dance floor it is the ultimate party venue and quite unlike any other structure in the UK today.

With its original flooring (a mixture of gorgeous oak, ash and pine boards - each extension got a different wood) you can feel the history of the thousands of people who drank and danced in this incredible structure

We have completed 90% of the restoration work but personal reasons mean we won't be able to get this structure finished and back into use so we are looking for someone with a spirit of adventure to take her over and introduce her to a whole new audience.

All the structural stuff is restored and refreshed, all the "how?" is worked out, she just needs a new canvas (or PVC) roof and we even have the design for that done and estimates for making it.

A few days tinkering around to finish everything off and she could be back in use in weeks as a unique party or event space. If you spent another £50k reinstating the wood / velvet interior you would have an incredible genuine vintage venue like nothing else in the UK.

Spiegeltents of this size typically rent out for £15k/week (plus transport from Europe) and can be built up by a small team quickly and efficiently without needing plant as every part was designed to be moved by a human. As part of buying this we will be sharing with you all the research and information we have on this structure to ensure the buyer can complete the refurb and get this operational again.
